Poetry Competition

The first poetry competition was held in 1996, originating from an idea proposed by Mr. Bernard Chase

(Hon. Secretary to the Trustees).

Last year, the competition was judged by Ross  Ayres the 2025 Stamford Poet Laureate

“Having come to a decision on the winners of the poetry competition, I felt humbled by the authenticity of these entries. They all had such emotive spirit and wonderful use of language.  I was grateful for the opportunity to judge the competition.”
